Your Menstrual Cycle

Your Menstrual Cycle

The average woman:

❣️ gets her first period at 11-12 years old

❣️ goes into menopause at 51 years old

❣️ has a lifespan of 81 years This means that we spend about 50% of our lives with regular menstrual cycles!!

Which means that we should all thoroughly understand our cycles, so let’s start with the basics

There are 4 phases to our menstrual cycles:

1️⃣ Menstrual Phase = week 1 starting from you day 1 of bleeding

2️⃣ Follicular Phase = week 2 when you tend to feel the best throughout the month

3️⃣ Ovulation Phase = week 3 when you ovulate and are your most fertile

4️⃣ Luteal Phase = week 4 when you tend to start feeling “PMS”-y

I’ll dive further into the details of each phase over the next couple of posts
