We finally made the decision to move forward with our FET (frozen embryo transfer). Apparently it was just meant to be because exactly 1 year ago, I landed in the hospital due to complications from my IUI. However, it doesn’t look like I’m going to end up in the hospital again this time around because I’m almost one week out and everything is still good – YAY!
I was quite an anxious mess when we walked into the clinic. I guess I’ve been a wee bit traumatized because the last time I had a procedure done at the clinic resulted in me going through QUITE the adventure! And, it turns out that the whole clinic was quite nervous that I was there as well. Normally, the patient just takes an antibiotic in the morning before the procedure. However, for me, I had to get two separate antibiotics intravenously beforehand, which further added to my anxiety because it delayed the timing of the actual procedure.
The procedure itself was pretty quick, and the doctor and nurses were great. I would describe the pain more like a significant discomfort, which was a relief because it was no where as intense as I had built it up in my head the night before. Afterwards, Jeff and I hung out in the recovery room for a couple of hours because they wanted to monitor how I was doing — just in case. But everything went quite smoothly and I’m now 1 week out and still feeling 100% healthy.
I’ll keep you updated on how this goes but for those of you who see me, you’ll figure it out soon enough!
