Informative Website for Breastfeeding Moms

Informative Website for Breastfeeding Moms

In clinic, I see many patients who are trying to get pregnant — whether it’s naturally or with ART (assisted reproductive technology).  This by extension means that I also have patients who will eventually be breastfeeding, and both pregnancy and breastfeeding can be very confusing times for women when it comes to medications.

Medications

I came across this great website for breastfeeding mums to bookmark for if and when they need to take any medications.  You just simply type in the name of the medication that you need, and information will pop up regarding the safety of taking this medication while breastfeeding.  If the medication that you are looking at isn’t safe, it will also give you some alternatives to discuss with your MD.

Natural Health Products

I found that you can even type in a limited amount of Naturopathic treatment options, such as various vitamins, minerals and even some herbs.  It isn’t 100% complete but it does have quite a few, so it’s worth a look as well if there are any health supplements that you are considering buying.  However, I would highly recommend that you speak to your Naturopathic Doctor or Functional Medicine Doctor before starting any supplements because important to remember that the fact that it’s “natural” doesn’t mean that it can’t do any harm.

You can find the link to the website HERE.

Take a look at it and let me know what you think!

If you’d like to sit down with me to discuss how I can create a customized treatment plan for you to support your fertility, during your pregnancy or during your fourth trimester, CONTACT ME HERE to set up your complimentary  15 min discovery call/meeting and we can get started.

What’s a discovery call/meeting?  It’s where we get to know each other better to ensure that I’m the right practitioner for you and that you have the opportunity to ask your questions about Naturopathic Medicine before we move forward with an initial Naturopathic consultation.
